Yahoo email is one of the phenomenally popular web email service, and has undergone many improvements and modifications since its early launch in 1997. Today Yahoo webmail serves over 280 million users which makes it the largest web based email service in the world.
In 2007 Yahoo introduced a new AJAX (Asynchronous Java and XML) based version of its interface, the AJAX version looks more like outlook express, the old version (Classic HTML) is still active and you will have the option to choose between the two.

In 2008 Yahoomail started providing unlimited storage space even to free users in response to heated competition in the free-webmail market segment.
In 2009 Yahoo messenger was also integrated with the mail page and can be accessed through the same place.
